Hey everyone! I have now started the training camp experience and it has been great so far. We have been here for 6 days and I have gotten to meet my teammates (squad mates) now and we are already building a cohesive group! There are 14 of us in total, and there are four guys. In the picture of us sitting around the table eating, Wesley is taking the picture, and then as you go around the table to the left you have Me, Jackson, Jaya, Tyler, Emily, Taylor, Marisol, Emma, Ella, Catherine, Kendall, Addisyn, Matea (she goes by Tea *tay-uh*). So far we’ve been doing lots of team building exercises and scenarios for when we are out on the field and we’ve been having a great time! We’ve done a lot of team building activities to build our trust and relationships with each other. Out in Africa we will be on two teams for ministry days. That means our group will be split in half on Monday-Friday during the time periods that we minister (just imagine 9-5) and then we all get back together in the evening. Stay tuned for what those teams will be! So far I don’t have a ton of pictures because we haven’t had our phones for most of training camp, but don’t worry more will come!

  1. I know how excited you (and all of your team members) are to be doing the training camp… There’s so many things to be in training about. What you’re doing now of course, but you also need be sort of get acclimated to your surroundings and living conditions. How is the wi-fi out there. Are you going to have to be off the grid, so to speak, or is communication possible. It all is such a learning curve for you.

Thanks so much for the update. I really enjoyed reading about what you’re doing now. I know I’m not alone in this. I’ll be looking forward to your next journal.

As for news here, the weather is a big topic of conversation. I personally haven’t had much snow, only a couple of inches. But surrounding areas have had totally different story. But the temperature is really frigid. There’s been news flashes across the tv screen saying we’re under a severe temperature watch until Wednesday. I’ll be trying to stay home as much as possible. I certainly am sure your temps have been a lot higher than that.

Keep the posts coming. Love, Aunt Carole

  2. Love your first report and how much you and the team have established so far. What a blessing I feel to be included in your journey!🥰
