Hello to all! It is good to write to everyone again about my trip. We are coming up on the last three weeks or so now and we’re finishing strong! Last week we did construction work! I was excited because that’s what most of my ministry has been in my past mission trips. We were at the school on the campus we live on and helping them build a tech center for them! Our job for the week was to grind out the rust spots on the walls and ceiling of the metal containers used for the building, put up rust converter, and put a coat of primer over all of it! Look for the picture of Kendall jumping to prime the top of the wall, I thought it was quite funny. We ended up getting pretty close to being finished, but that is okay that we didn’t completely finish because we did a lot of the work and it was much appreciated by them! After construction we were volunteers at a youth camp that they do every year across South Africa called #imagine. It was really cool! I signed up for the media team and was entrusted with a nice camera and stabilizer for taking videos and photos from the weekend! It was a very full week, but it was amazing nonetheless! The boys also pulled quite the April fools prank on the girls. All the guys remembered it was, but the girls did not remember at all which made it great. We hid all of the pots and pans along with the toaster, silverware, cereal, and peanut butter from them so they didn’t have any of it to work with to make breakfast. All the guys thought it was great, and then the girls hid our shoes for ministry, so Wesley and I put on their shoes haha. We did end up getting our shoes back to go to ministry, however. This week we are back at the orphanage and working with the kids again! Stay tuned for more, and enjoy the pictures!

  1. It looks like a lot of hard work along with some great adventures and fun. Keep up the great work!

  2. Wow! You guys must be exhausted! I can see your efforts are making a difference in people’s lives and of course that means y’all are being changed too. God is good.
I truly love the April Fool’s prank story and seeing you and Wesley in girl shoes😂 You both look quite uncomfortable 🥴
But hey, you’re there walking a mile in someone else’s shoes overall so perhaps it is a fitting experience.
Snuggle some babies and toddlers for me in the orphanage. And encourage the older kids with your winning smile. I love you.

  3. This was so much fun to read. Reading about your April Fools pranks was sooo funny. I can just see you guys hiding the pots & pans, etc. But those girls got you back good. Love you & your friend’s new shoes!!!

I must admit, from someone who broke the femur & fractured the knee cap, you standing on the tip top of that stool, really made me nervous. It’s been a really tough 2 months post surgery and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. But looks like you handled it all with your usual grace.

I know you all wanted to finish your painting project. But sometimes things just don’t work that well. Plus you saved something for the next group to finish up.

Hard to believe your time there is coming to an end. The time is just flying by.

Enjoy your last 3 weeks. Keep those blogs & posts coming. I can’t vouch for anyone else, but I just love them so much and look forward to the next one. Love, Aunt Carole

  4. Grant, great stuff! Glad you are there making a difference in lives!

    Blessings, uncle Don II
